1. Who we are

This site is operated by Abdulsamad Hamid trading as AutoNexMobile. We are the "controller" of the personal data described below and can be contacted at:

2. What data we collect

  • Vehicle details — registration you enter, plus DVLA / DVSA lookup results (make, model, MOT, tax status).
  • Contact details — name, phone, email address.
  • Service address — where the work will be carried out.
  • Booking details — service chosen, date and time, any notes you provide.
  • Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Anonymous analytics — an opaque visitor id stored in your browser, and page-view records. Only set with your consent (see §9).

3. Lawful basis

  • Contract — to quote for and deliver the service you booked.
  • Legitimate interest — to run and secure our website and prevent fraud.
  • Consent — for optional marketing emails and non-essential analytics cookies.
  • Legal obligation — to keep records required by HMRC and consumer-protection law.

4. How we use it

  • Provide quotes, confirm bookings, carry out the work and issue reports/receipts.
  • Contact you about your booking (reminders, updates, follow-up).
  • Where you've opted in, send occasional service reminders and offers.
  • Improve the website using anonymous analytics.
  • Meet our tax, accounting and consumer-law obligations.

5. Third parties we share with

We only share what's necessary, with providers who process data on our behalf under contract:

  • Stripe — card payments (deposits and balances).
  • ClickMechanic — where you booked us via their platform.
  • DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service — to look up basic vehicle details from your registration.
  • DVSA MOT History API — to look up MOT status/history.
  • Lovable Cloud — hosting, database and edge-function provider.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (booking confirmations, receipts).
  • Cloudflare — network/edge infrastructure.

We do not sell your data.

6. How long we keep it

Booking and payment records are retained for 6 yearsto meet HMRC and consumer-law obligations. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Anonymous analytics are automatically deleted after 90 days.

7. Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Ask us to erase data we no longer need to keep.
  • Restrict or object to processing.
  • Request a portable copy of data you provided.
  • Withdraw consent at any time (for marketing / analytics).

8. Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first — we'll do our best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data-protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

9. Cookies

We keep cookies to the minimum:

  • Essential — a small piece of session storage used to remember the service you're booking. Always on.
  • Analytics (optional) — an anonymous visitor id in localStorage, set only if you accept via the cookie banner. Used to count page views and improve the site.
  • Stripe (essential during checkout) — Stripe uses its own cookies to secure card payments.

You can change your choice at any time by clearing site data in your browser.

10. Making a data request

Email info@autonexmobile.co.uk with the subject line "Data request" and tell us what you'd like. We may ask you to confirm your identity before releasing information.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change if we do.
